Co-Owner

Kayla Richardson M.S.

MS

CCC-SLP

IBCLC

Kayla is a Speech-Language Pathologist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a passion for pediatric feeding development. While feeding has always been an area of special interest, her curiosity about the intersection of feeding therapy and lactation became personal when her own babies experienced feeding challenges. That experience inspired her to explore how these two specialties could work together to better support breastfeeding families and ultimately helped shape the multidisciplinary approach that defines The Abeille Feeding Clinic today.

As co-owner of The Abeille Feeding Clinic, Kayla is passionate about creating a space where families feel heard, supported, and empowered. She believes feeding challenges are rarely one-dimensional and that meaningful progress comes from looking at the whole baby, understanding each family’s unique circumstances, and collaborating across specialties. Her approach combines evidence-based care with compassion, practical education, and the understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to feeding. Above all, she wants parents to feel confident in their decisions and supported in reaching their own feeding goals.

Outside of the clinic, Kayla is a wife and mom to three girls who keep life equal parts busy and entertaining. She loves traveling, photography, and squeezing in Pilates whenever she can. Her experiences as both a clinician and a mother continue to shape the way she connects with families, reminding her that sometimes the most meaningful support begins with simply listening.

favorite part about working at Abeille

"One of my favorite things about Abeille is watching the vision we had for this clinic come to life. We've created a space where families feel supported, clinicians feel empowered, and collaboration is part of everything we do. Getting to work alongside people who genuinely love what they do makes it even better."

Fun Fact

"I'm a minimalist at heart, except when it comes to planning our next family vacation."

Starting solids

Around six months, first foods bring new questions. We assess your baby’s readiness, oral skills, and posture, then help with gagging, allergen worries, and food refusal, whether you choose purees, baby-led weaning, or a mix.

Feeding Therapy

We help babies, toddlers, and kids who find eating or drinking hard, from gagging and swallowing trouble to picky eating and mealtime stress. Play-based, child-led sessions build skills and confidence that carry over at home.
