Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a specialized therapy that focuses on the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue. These muscles play a critical role in breathing, feeding, swallowing, speech, sleep quality, and facial development from infancy through adulthood.

Our approach

A Whole-Body Approach to Myofunctional Therapy.

At The Abeille Feeding Clinic, we don’t isolate the mouth from the rest of the body. Our therapists look at how oral function integrates with posture, breathing, feeding, and nervous system regulation.

Your myofunctional therapy plan may include:

  • Individualized oral motor and functional exercises
  • Breathing and airway support strategies
  • Feeding and chewing skill development
  • Integration of Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and Craniofacial Therapy (CFT) when appropriate
  • Collaboration with lactation consultants, feeding therapists, and pediatric therapists

This integrative approach helps create sustainable changes, not just short-term improvements.
