IBCLC
I’m Theresa, a Registered Dietitian and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I received my B.S. in dietetics in 2009, completed my dietetic internship through Southeast Missouri State University in 2011 and have been a registered dietitian since 2011. After working as an RD in long-term care early in my career, I quickly shifted to public health and working with families in the WIC (Supplemental Foods for Women Infants and Children program). During that time, I discovered my passion for supporting women and families through pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum as well as feeding growing families. I became an IBCLC in 2017 (right before my second baby was born!) I have been blessed with so many mentors and families to learn from in my career and strive to continue my education to better support my clients.
I have birthed and breastfed 2 beautiful babies and have been providing nutrition and lactation support to families for the last 15 years. I am passionate about educating and supporting families, communities, and professionals about the importance of breastfeeding and nutrition and look forward to helping many families meet feeding goals. I am a lifelong learner and have completed 100s of hours of postgraduate training in nutrition, functional nutrition, and oral function and use this knowledge and experience to take a whole-person/whole-family approach with my clients.

Services
How Theresa can help.
Lactation support
Feeding your baby shouldn’t feel confusing, painful, or isolating. At The Abeille Feeding Clinic, our lactation support services are designed to support both you and your baby—from the early days after birth through ongoing feeding transitions.
Bottle feeding
Whether you bottle feed exclusively, combine breast and bottle, or are offering a bottle for the first time, we’ll help with refusal, slow or stressful feeds, and positioning. Expect a gentle, step-by-step plan and zero judgment.
Starting solids
Around six months, first foods bring new questions. We assess your baby’s readiness, oral skills, and posture, then help with gagging, allergen worries, and food refusal, whether you choose purees, baby-led weaning, or a mix.
Diet & Nutrition
Our registered dietitian supports families from pregnancy planning through childhood, including postpartum recovery, picky eating, and family meals, with personalized plans built on responsive feeding.
Oral Ties
Tongue, lip, and buccal ties can affect feeding, breathing, and speech at any age. We assess how the mouth actually functions and provide therapy and bodywork before and after a release by your dental or medical provider.
Groups & Classes
Join a free weekly support group for weight checks, answers, and community, or get ready before birth with our prenatal feeding workshop. However you feed your baby, you’re welcome here.
